Enrolments
This week we sent out enrolment letters to children who will be starting school in terms 3 and 4 and also terms 1 and 2 in 2019.  Please contact the office to confirm your enrolment date and time.  If you know of somebody who would like to enrol their child at St Joseph's, please contact the office.  When you go for your interview with the principal and Fr Wayne, you will receive your enrolment pack.

Head Lice
It's that time of year when the small critters are finding a home in your child's hair.  Please check your child's hair and treat if necessary.

Holy Shop
The Holy Shop in the Presbytery is having sale during May.  Bibles and religious books including children's books have 50% discount.  There are 3 or 4 children's books with a CD for around the $6 mark.  Confirmation Cards and Gifts etc are less 10%.  All are welcome to come and browse and they have catalogues available if you desire something which is not in stock.  Contact Jan Law on 437 0287 or text 027 363 1481 or email janto44@icloud.com

Home and School
Are starting the Pies and Milo Wednesday lunches again on Wednesday 23rd May.  Children are to bring their own named cup and 50c for milo and a named pie wrapped in a heat proof wrapper.  PLEASE NO FROZEN PIES as they are not guaranteed to be cooked properly.  The pies and cups are to be left on the bench in the hall kitchen before 9.00 am.  Any unnamed pies will not be heated.


Enrolments

Interschool Permission Forms
These interschool permission forms were handed out on Monday to some Yr 6/7/8 students who are competing in the annual junior quadrangular interschool in Dunedin.  The form and money is due back to the office by Wednesday 6th June.

Photos
Please send us through your photos of children involved with the arts, cultural, sport etc as we are interested in why they are doing.  Email them to office@stjoseph.school.nz

Scholastic Book Club
Book club orders are due back to the office by Friday 25th May.

Sport Fees
Thank you to everyone who has paid their winter sport fees for this season.  Parents who paid the original amount of the sport fee will have the difference charged to their account. Most codes had gone up $5.00 since the original costings were advertised e.g.
basketball - was $55 now $60
football - primary was $55 now $60 and midget now $40
hockey - been charged to your accounts
miniball - was $45 now $50
netball - was $40 now $45 and Yr 1/2 is still $15
rugby - still $25

School accounts will be sent home late next week.

Badminton
The Oamaru Badminton Club is looking at a 6 week lesson for children from Yr 5 upwards who are interested in learning badminton.  They are looking at Monday afternoons from 3.45 to 4.45 pm and will cost $2.00 per lesson.  For further information, contact Sarah Clapperton at sclapperton@stkevins.school or purchases@kiwibonds.com  Please express your interest by Thursday 24th May.

Community Notices
  • Filipino Waitaki Inc in cooperation with the Waitaki Multicultural Council is holding a variety show on Saturday 9th June from 7.00 to 8.30 pm at the Oamaru Opera House.  Tickets cost $5-$10 and can be bought through www.ticketdirect.co.nz or at the Opera House.
